JD Weiss

JD has taken just about every type of photograph since 1960, is a member of the Photographic Society of America (PSA) and a Life member of the International Freelance Photographers Organization (IFPO). He has been a freelance photographer for many years and is a press photographer for the American International News Service and Today's Photographer Magazine, which has a current distribution of over 195,000, is circulated to more than 140 countries around the world and published by American Image Press.

JD is a member of the Freelance Photography Hall of Fame and is an IFPO authorized "Model Consultant (#73858), helping New, Amateur and Freelance Models become published in the "IFPO New Discoveries Program."

He is an "Inner Circle Member" and authorized "Agent and Distributor" of I.F.P.O. and "Today's Photographer Magazine" products and services.

JD is a private pilot, an avid shooter and a Life Member of the NRA (National Rifle Association). He is an NRA and Law Enforcement Certified Firearms Instructor & Range Safety Officer, an NRA membership Recruiter and an authorized Nevada CCW instructor.

JD is a Life Member of the American Radio Relay League (ARRL), Life member and past President (three times between 1979 - 1982 and 1987 - 1990) of the Radio Society of Okinawa (RSO). In 1985, He became a founding member and the first President of the Moreno Valley Amateur Radio Association (MVARA) in Moreno Valley, Ca. On 1 Sept 2006, JD became a founding member and the first President and Trustee of the Burning HAM's Amateur Radio Society.

In his spare time, enjoys talking with people all over the world on what the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) officially calls "Amateur Radio", which is more Commonly known as "HAM Radio". His FCC assigned call sign is "NK7W." While stationed at kadena Air Base, Okinawa Japan (1987 - 1990), he was issued the call sign "7J6CAQ" by the Japanese government. He has been an active member of U.S.A.F. MARS (Military Auxiliary Radio System) since 1975. JD is currently the USAF MARS National Mission Support Net Manager, South West Area Region 9 Area Voice Net manager and former SW Area region 9 Public Information Officer. He also participates in the "Sky Warn" program, assisting the National Weather Service with adverse weather information from various locations.

JD is a member of the Masonic Fraternity. He is the 2010 Master of Amity Lodge #4 F.&.A.M. in Silver City, the second oldest Masonic Lodge in Nevada, being Chartered in 1863. The 2005 Master of Golden Lodge #50 F.&.A.M. in Reno, Nevada and the 2005 Monarch of Chaman Grotto M.O.V.P.E.R. in Reno, Nevada. All three are Masonic organizations. He is the creator and Webmaster of their web pages and the Ring Master of the Nevada Masonic and M.O.V.P.E.R. Web Rings. He is also the creator and Webmaster of this web site and several others.

JD is a Certified Travel Agent, owns the Universe Travel Agency and has completed Destination Specialist training for many areas and cruises.

JD has a Doctor of Divinity degree and is an Ordained Clergy, the President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Nevada Universal Life Church. He is certified by the state of Nevada to perform marriage ceremonies. He's a Notary Public in and for the state of Nevada and a member of the National Notary Association. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Air Force and is a proud veteran.
